In a world where social events, celebrations, and even routine activities often revolve around alcohol, drinking is extremely normalized. So when I tell someone I don’t drink, I sometimes get questions or push back.

For me, living sober isn’t about avoiding fun or missing out—it’s about honoring my body and making choices that support my well-being. Health is everything, and sometimes for me, that means saying no to things.

Today, I am 500 days sober!

This time last year, I was nervous about going into the holidays and what people’s reactions would be. I was still figuring everything out, and to be honest, I didn’t know I would need to choose to be sober for the rest of my life.

Today, it feels good to choose what’s best for me and know I’m doing everything I can for my health. This hasn’t come without challenges and learning how to manage other people’s expectations.

I just want to leave you with this - just because someone doesn’t drink alcohol doesn’t mean they have to tell you why. There are many reasons people decide not to drink, and it’s completely up to them if they want to share that reason or not. If you ever offer someone a beverage and they decline, please accept that as the answer without judgement or comment.

Thank you for being here 💕
